COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio’s $3 billion property tax overhaul is designed to lower some bills, change how taxes are calculated and stop the sharp spikes that have frustrated homeowners in recent years.
But you won’t see all the savings right away. The catch is that these changes roll out over several years.
Some provisions affect taxes based on 2025 property values and will appear on 2026 bills. Others start in tax year 2026, but because property taxes are paid a year behind, homeowners won’t see those changes until 2027 or later…
