EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – A cold front will bring widespread rain with embedded t-storms to the area Sunday night before a sharp drop in temperatures overnight into Monday. The weather will stay cool and fairly quiet through much of next week.
A warm front will lift north over the area overnight which may produce some patchy drizzle or some sprinkles otherwise we’ll stay mostly dry. Temperatures will only cool into the lower 60s before gradually warming overnight.
Sunday will be another warm and breezy day ahead of a strong cold front Sunday night. Temperatures will top out in the upper 60s to around 70. Expect mostly cloudy skies with some spotty showers possible ahead of the front Sunday afternoon. Winds will become breezy out of the south/southwest with gusts up to 25 -30 mph possible. The front will pass over the Tri-State Sunday night, producing a line of rain with some embedded thunderstorms. The SPC has placed the Tri-State under a level 1 marginal risk for strong to severe storms. An isolated strong to severe wind gust maybe possible within the band of rain as it passes over head. The tornado threat is very low but a brief spin-up can’t be completely ruled out. Widespread severe weather is not expected…
