PENNSYLVANIA — Thousands of residents in Allegheny County were without power due to wire damage, according to the Duquesne Light Company.
The utility said crews are working to restore electricity to approximately 2,000 customers in Mt. Oliver, nearby neighborhoods of Pittsburgh, as well as the communities of New Homestead and Munhall. The outages were attributed to damaged wires, though the exact cause of the damage has not yet been determined.
Duquesne Light estimated that power restoration for all affected customers would take place between 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Officials said the extended restoration time is due to the complexity of the repairs required.
