ROANOKE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR)- The tractor-trailer driver involved in a fatal crash that left three people dead, including a toddler, was charged with three counts of manslaughter.
According to the Virginia State Police, the two-vehicle crash occurred at 11:08 p.m. on December 22 near mile marker 145 on Interstate 81 in Roanoke County. Police said the driver of a 2014 Volvo tractor, traveling north, ran off the right side of the road and struck a 2025 Honda Odyssey, which was stopped on the shoulder.
The driver and two passengers in the Honda died at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. They have been identified as Lorraine Renee Williams, 65, Ebony Latasha Williams, 49, and Shazziyah Lesley, 2. Three additional passengers of the Honda were taken to the hospital with injuries, a 63-year-old male, a 73-year-old male, and a 10-year-old female, according to VSP…
