Schenectady County extends Code Blue

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Code Blue has been extended in Schenectady County. The advisory began on Friday and will remain in effect through 7 a.m. on Monday.

A Code Blue goes into effect when overnight temperatures are forecasted to drop below freezing. Those in need of emergency shelter or housing are encouraged to contact the following Code Blue shelter locations:

Schenectady County residents are also advised to dress in layers, cover exposed skin and watch for signs of hypothermia, including shivering, confusion and drowsiness. Ovens and grills should also never be used to heat a home.
