Buffalo crews prepare for possible high winds, ice, and snow

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Skyway will close at 6 a.m. Monday as a powerful storm moves into the region, bringing the potential for heavy snow, ice, rain, and strong winds.

City officials say wind is the biggest concern.

“The big factor for the Skyway closure was the winds that are projected,” said the acting commissioner of the City of Buffalo Department of Public Works. “We’re seeing projections of upwards of 70 mile per hour gusts.”…
