CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. — A man faces several charges after police say he used a golf club to beat another man in a parking lot, was found carrying drugs, and threatened the officer that arrested him in Chattanooga on Saturday.
An affidavit we obtained says officers responded to an assault call at the Walmart on Hixson Pike just after 6:30 Saturday evening. They spoke with a man who had been assaulted by a person on a bike who was blocking the road. The man told officers that the person, later identified as Tristan Maynor, followed him to the Dollar Tree after he’d honked at him to get out of the way, so he kept driving until he thought Maynor was no longer following him and parked at the Walmart.
The man told officers that when he got out of his car to go inside the Walmart, he turned and saw Maynor coming around the car. The man told Maynor to go away, but Maynor hit him in the shoulder and face with a golf club before leaving on his bike. The man went into the Walmart for help, and EMS was called. The man drove himself to the hospital after being told he needed stitches on his nose…
