HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – Monday is a First Alert Weather Day due to an abrupt change in the weather. An Arctic Cold front will move in overnight. Temperatures will plunge to near freezing by sunrise Monday morning and afternoon highs will not get out of the 30s until Wednesday. Wind chill could drop into the single digits at times. Tonight the wind will slowly increase and gusts from 25-35 mph will be common after 9pm. Wind gusts could exceed 40 mph directly along the cold front. Some locally heavy rain will be possible right along the front as well. We don’t expect much lightning and we don’t expect severe storms but some isolated wind damage is possible. You should secure any loose items around the yard. Temperatures will moderate and be back to normal by the middle of the week…
