AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Coffee Memorial Blood Center announced that Our Blood Institute will be kicking off the new year with “Hope Is the Vibe” blood drive, including a chance for a $5,000 giveaway.
According to CMBC, donors who participate in the drive between Dec. 26 through Jan. 12 will be entered for a chance to win a $5,000 reward.

CMBC added that this campaign not only helps one donor but also benefits a young girl battling leukemia, with $5,000 for medical expenses. All donors will receive a long-sleeved shirt with ” Give Hope” written on it and an interactive QR code that links to encouraging messages.
“When you give blood, you’re doing more than helping patients, you’re sharing hope,” said Dr. John Armitage, president and CEO of Our Blood Institute and Coffee Memorial Blood Center. “Each donation represents a spark of compassion and community that connects us all. This campaign is about celebrating that energy and reminding donors that their generosity has real power.”
CMBC stated that donors must be at least 16 years old and added that the donation process takes approximately one hour, and one donation can save up to three lives. Officials noted that 16-year-olds must weigh at least 125 pounds and provide signed parental permission; 17-year-olds must weigh at least 125 pounds; and anyone ages 18 or over must weigh at least 110 pounds.
