GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – Local drag performers came together Saturday night to show that drag is about more than just a show, it’s art, community, and giving back.
Music filled Nepalese Lounge and Grille in Green Bay as performers raised money for Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary, a local no-kill rescue that provides extra care for cats with special needs. According to the organization, the event raised $2,000 to support its ongoing work.
The fundraiser brought together performers, local businesses, and members of Green Bay’s LGBTQIA+ community, highlighting how drag can serve as creative expression and community connection during a time the performers say is hard to not only be LGBTQIA+ but to be a Drag Queen.
