Recent temperatures have been warmer than average in Mississippi, but as we move into a new week, expect wind, rain and nighttime temperatures in the mid to low 20s in parts of the state.
According to the National Weather Service in Jackson, today will be partly sunny in the Jackson area and the high temperature will be in the upper 70s, but things will change significantly overnight. A cold front is expected to move through with thunderstorms and showers with an 80% chance of precipitation.
Conditions are also expected to be windy. According to the National Weather Service, winds tonight into Monday could be 10-20 mph with gusts as high as 35 mph. The low temperature in the Jackson area is expected to be in the upper 30s tonight followed by 27 degrees Monday night and 25 degrees Tuesday night…
