Arkansas Grocery Tax Relief Act starts, saving taxpayers millions

(KODE & KSN) — A little relief at the grocery store checkout is coming to Arkansans this week..

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced the Grocery Tax Relief Act earlier this year—which repeals the Arkansas state grocery tax in the new year. That means, starting this Thursday, January 1—there will be no tax on “food ingredients” in the Natural State.

A statement from the Governor’s office says the move should return nearly $11 million to the taxpayer annually. Another piece of legislation called The Good Neighbor Act also begins on Thursday…
