LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The last round of record high temperatures are in for the month of December.
Lubbock reached a high of 83°, smashing the previous record of 76° set in 1976. Childress reached a high of 87°, also smashing the previous record of 78° set in 1928.
Saturday night brings one final opportunity to experience mild conditions before a significant weather shift takes over the region Sunday.
Overnight lows will moderate into the 40s and 50s thanks to elevated winds and cloud cover. Southwest winds will remain active through the evening.
