Buckeye prison inmate dies after cellmate altercation, officials say

An inmate in the Lewis Complex at Buckeye State Prison has died following an altercation with his cellmate, officials confirmed.

The death of Joshua Walker, 41, is being investigated as a homicide, the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry wrote in a statement.

Walker was admitted into state custody in 2021 after being sentenced for second-degree murder, misconduct involving weapons and a marijuana related offence, according to the department’s statement…
