Woman charged with armed robbery of North Charleston homeless encampment

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A woman has been arrested and is facing a robbery charge for allegedly stealing from the tent of a homeless man earlier this month.

North Charleston Police say Jacqueline Nicole Spencer, 41, of North Charleston, is charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon.

Though the arrest was announced Monday, police say Spencer was brought into custody Friday for the Dec. 15 attack.

That day, officers say a victim reported that Spencer and an unknown accomplice cut into the entrance to his tent, which was set up near the 6400 block of Rivers Avenue, and punched him in the face…
