HOUSTON, TX – The fatal shooting of 33-year-old Sebastian Jimenez on December 24 is under investigation and has been referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
HPD Homicide Division Sgt. C. Ponder and Detective J. Meister reported that officers responded around 6:35 p.m. to a call at 1400 Scott Street and found Jimenez suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined the shooting occurred in a parking lot at 3508 Denver Street in East Downtown. The shooter, who remained at the scene, told investigators that Jimenez pulled a knife, prompting him to use a firearm in self-defense.
