Pottawattamie County Man Faces Charges of Homicide by Vehicle

(Council Bluffs) A Council Bluffs man is in custody after Toxicology results revealed 72-year-old Dennis Stark was at a .127 blood alcohol content and had marijuana in his system when the vehicle he was driving struck and killed 47-year-old Heidi Divis, of Omaha.

According to the Council Bluffs Police Department, Divis was crossing Kanesville northbound against the walk signal when she was struck by the 2009 eastbound Kia Sportage driven by Stark. Mr. Stark was headed through the intersection with a yellow light when he struck Ms. Divis.

Stark was showing signs of impairment, and a search warrant was granted for his blood. A warrant for Homicide by Vehicle while OWI was applied for, and today, authorities took Stark into custody. He is held on no bond…
