Suspect in West Valley City standoff charged with aggravated assault, endangering law enforcement

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4) — The suspect accused of threatening two victims involved in a minor collision and then causing a SWAT standoff at his residence has been charged with 17 felonies connected to the incident.

42-year-old Steven Allen Whites is charged with 12 counts of assault on an officer with a dangerous weapon (second-degree felony), three counts of aggravated assault (third-degree felony), two counts of endangering a police service canine (third-degree felony), and one count of failing to comply with duties at a vehicle accident (Class B misdemeanor)…
