Georgia family devastated after toddler accidentally shot in head on Christmas morning

WALKER COUNTY, Ga. — We’re learning more about the condition of a Walker County, Georgia toddler who was accidentally shot in the head on Christmas Day.

Sheriff Steve Wilson says the 2-year-old’s father returned to his home on Tarvin Road late on Christmas Eve and had put his 9mm handgun on a nightstand beside the bed.

On Christmas morning, as the father was in another room putting clothes on his infant, Sheriff Wilson says the father heard a ‘pop’ noise from his bedroom.

He rushed to the room to find the 2-year-old child crying and bleeding from a gunshot wound to the head…
