The National Weather Service in Peachtree City issued a Fire Weather Watch from Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 30, through Tuesday evening.
NWS said Fannin, Gilmer, Union, Towns, Pickens, Dawson, Lumpkin, White, Forsyth, Hall, Banks, Jackson, Madison, Gwinnett, Barrow, Clarke and Oconee counties will be under a Class 5 Extreme Danger Day. This watch also includes the Chattahoochee and Oconee National Forests.
