Durham authorities are investigating two potentially connected incidents that resulted in two deaths last Saturday. Around 1:30 a.m., police responded to reports of gunfire on Lodestone Drive, finding evidence of a shooting but no victims, according to ABC11. Minutes later, a fatal crash on Wake Forest Highway, about 1.5 miles from the shooting scene, claimed the life of a driver, prompting investigators to examine a possible link between the two events.
The Durham County Sheriff’s Office, along with city police, responded to the crash, where the driver was pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased has not been released. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward, with CrimeStoppers offering up to $2,000 for tips leading to an arrest. Later that day, around 8:20 p.m., a shooting on North Miami Boulevard left a man dead after he succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. A potential suspect is being questioned. Investigator J.
