Full Circle: Return of Woodburn restaurant brings diner back to its roots

WOODBURN, Ind. (WANE) — A Woodburn diner that has changed hands and names several times this decade is heading back to its roots.

Bob’s Family Restaurant, a nod to the original name of the diner that has long stood where Main Street and State Road 101 meet, will soon open its doors. Ownership originally intended to open Monday, but technical difficulties forced the grand opening to be postponed.

Bob’s Family Restaurant marks the fourth different ownership of the property, located at 22301 Main St., in as many years. In August 2022, Tiara Bremer closed Bob’s Restaurant after 17 years of owning it due to financial problems brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first person to fill its place was Kim Campbell, who owns Willie’s Café in Fort Wayne and opened a second location at the former Bob’s spot. Willie’s Café II closed in summer 2024, and another restaurant, Char’s Grill and Smokehouse, soon took its place and opened in March 2025…
