FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Starting next year, Fort Wayne residents won’t have to travel outside city limits to get their fix of coney dogs and limeades.
After 15 years of waiting, Sonic is making its return to the Summit City and is estimated to open by May, franchise owner Alex Richardson confirmed. The fast-food restaurant will be attached to a Marathon gas station being built on Bass Road near the roundabout connecting to Thomas Road, Allen County planning documents show.
Its design with a “compact footprint” doesn’t allow a canopy for drive-in service, Richardson explained. He added there will be four spots where car hops can still deliver food to customers who order ahead. There will also be counter service inside…
