Allen County secures new emergency dispatch provider after TRAA ends services outside Fort Wayne

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – Allen County Fire Chiefs have secured Heartland Ambulance Service to provide Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) for unincorporated areas outside city limits, effective December 29, 2025, ensuring uninterrupted 911 medical call transfers.

This announcement comes after Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, or TRAA, announced in September they they will be halting EMD services to all medical emergency calls that originate outside of Fort Wayne city limits, beginning on Dec. 29th.
