Kentucky lawmaker plans minimum wage increase push

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – Kentucky’s minimum wage will remain at $7.25 an hour when new laws take effect Jan. 1, but one lawmaker says he plans to change that during the upcoming legislative session.

State Representative George Brown, who has represented a portion of Lexington since 2015, said he will work to raise the state’s minimum wage when the Kentucky legislative session begins in January.

“I think raising the minimum wage makes sense for the people of the commonwealth for the common working man,” Brown said…
