(FOX40.COM) — The City of Fairfield and the Solano County Workforce Development Board are stepping in to support employees facing layoffs after Anheuser-Busch decided to close its brewing facility.
Rapid response teams will be on site at the brewing facility on January 8 and 9, providing direct access to employment services, retraining options, and career planning support. An additional career fair is scheduled for January 29.
“We’ll be looking for companies to come in and, you know, scoop up the talent,” said April Ziomek-Portillo, the board’s Director of Business Solutions & Registered Apprenticeship. “Main focus of that is really keeping talent local, getting people reemployed fast.”…
