GALLERY: Streets littered with fallen trees, snapped wires as raging winds continue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Powerful winds are tearing through the region Monday, leaving streets strewn with uprooted trees and downed power lines as crews raced to restore order.

Footage captured by News 8 crews as well as viewer-submitted images show the damages.

In Webster, multiple poles holding power lines snap and lay across the road on Van Alstyne Road.

In Rochester, a tree lays across the street after it fell in the area of Fairview Court and Shore Acres Drive.

The Chili Fire Department posted these photos after responding to more than one dozen calls for service this morning. These photos at the intersection of Theron Street and Morrison Avenue show power lines on fire.
