Maid of the Mist chairman dies at 91

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — James Glynn, chairman and chief executive officer of the Maid of the Mist, has died following a lengthy illness, the company announced. He was 91.

Glynn joined the Maid of the Mist in 1950 as a ticket seller before going on to purchase the company in 1971. The Maid of the Mist became a worldwide attraction under his guidance, showing visitors Niagara Falls through a popular boat tour.

Glynn is survived by his wife of 67 years, five children, 18 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
