Former Madison County Treasurer Now Faces 6 Charges, Including 3 Felonies

MADISON COUNTY, Iowa — A former Madison County treasurer is now facing six criminal charges, including three felonies, according to updated court records.

Amanda DeVos, 38, was arrested in January 2025 after investigators alleged she used her position to alter county records to make it appear she had paid vehicle registration fees that were never paid. She was initially charged with one felony and multiple aggravated misdemeanors.

Court filings show a second felony charge was added in December related to a separate alleged incident earlier in 2024. Days later, prosecutors amended the case to include a third felony, accusing DeVos of altering records connected to her personal property taxes in an amount between $1,500 and $10,000.

The case was moved to Boone County following a change of venue and has been delayed multiple times. A new jury trial date is now scheduled for May 5, 2026
