Razzoo’s in Lubbock shuts down amid bankruptcy sale

LUBBOCK, Texas — Razzoo’s in Lubbock appeared to be closed for good on Monday morning after the Texas-based Cajun cuisine chain filed for bankruptcy in October.

In its earlier court filings, Razoo’s cited a decline in sales, difficult market conditions and “aggressive” marketing and promotions from competing national chains, which negatively influences Razzoo’s traffic.

Razzoos is preparing to sell its assets to Dallas-based M Crowd Restaurant Group, who acquired the Cajun chain for nearly $19 million. The lease for the Lubbock location was excluded from the asset purchase agreement, according to federal bankruptcy filings. A journalist went to the Lubbock restaurant at lunch on Monday, and the building was empty. Additionally, the Facebook Page for the Lubbock Razzoo’s location no longer exists…
