LIVING LINCOLN: Taking leftovers, making glass art in Roca

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – So many churches across the Midwest are decked in ornate, detailed pieces of stained glass. Some depict God, the stations of Christ, or the Bible. But it all serves to point you toward the content of a good church service. For Rodney W. Scott, sometimes the art is the point.

He has been working with stained glass since the 1980s. His brother had picked up the hobby, and he did too, and it stuck like solder.

“It was kind of a competition between me and my brother. He started, and I was like well, I could do that, so I tried and I ran out of parts. So I went to Omaha to a studio to get some glass and it ended up they wanted someone to work there. So I though, OK, I’ll try this for a couple of months.”…
