Dear Editor: Thank you for explaining the complexity of recent projections of population growth in Madison and Dane County (“New Dane County population projections see growth accelerating,” Dec. 18).
It’s clear to this not unbiased resident why Madison’s many amenities mentioned by Jason Valerius are attractive to people moving within Wisconsin. For the influx of non-Wisconsinites I would add our climate, which is experiencing less punishment from climate change than is much of the nation and world.
Madison is fortunate to have Ald. John Guequierre on the Plan Commission. He understands the inevitability of the projected rapid growth and the critical need for affordable, sustainable housing — and he is a successful developer of exactly that.
