DALLAS, Texas — Ice skating rinks across North Texas are back open for business as colder weather returns after a winter heat wave forced several closures.
The recent warm temperatures melted ice at outdoor rinks across the region, turning skaters away in cities including Grapevine, Fort Worth, Frisco and Garland.
Pierre Panayi, who owns several rinks across the Metroplex, compared the conditions to “a hair dryer on the ice just eroding it.”…
