NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – As 2026 approaches, law enforcement agencies are increasing security measures in and around the French Quarter.

From Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, through Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, Louisiana State Police troopers, along with agents from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and other state agencies, will support the City of New Orleans, the New Orleans Police Department and the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office.
