Omaha woman charged with murder in Christmas night stabbing death

OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Prosecutors will move forward on a murder charge in a homicide investigation where a woman is claiming self-defense.

The Douglas County Attorney confirmed Monday that 41-year-old Maryuris Velasquez-Mendoza will face a 2nd-degree murder charge, along with using a knife to commit a felony and tampering with evidence.
