ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Federal charges have been filed against a 36-year-old suspect in a shooting that uncovered a Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office operation.
Prosecutors filed state charges against 36-year-old Jason Baca. Three deputies shot Baca after trying to arrest him on a felony warrant Nov. 12 near Central Avenue and Wisconsin Street.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the three deputies were federally deputized as U.S. Marshals Service task force officers as a part of Operation Triple Beam. That led to Baca’s federal charges…
