Operation Pawsitive Change rescues 28 puppies in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The city of Las Vegas has recovered nearly 30 puppies as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal pet breeding and sales.

According to the city’s Department of Public Safety, Operation Pawsitive Change has resulted in the recovery of 28 puppies and the issuance of 56 citations so far this year.

Puppies sold illegally in the Las Vegas area can fetch anywhere from $350 to $3,000, depending on the breed. Recent recoveries have included Chihuahuas, Corgis and Jack Russell mixes known as “CO-Jacks,” Bullies, and French Bulldogs.
