PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — As overnight temperatures are expected to dip into the lower-to-mid-30s over the next several days, officials around the Willamette Valley are working to open warming shelters for those in need of help.
In Clackamas County, the Father’s Heart is opening its doors for Monday and Tuesday night, providing nearly 70 beds at two locations and serving a hot meal for men and women in addition to the lodging.
The Father’s Heart contracts with the county to open the warming shelters when temperatures drop to 33 degrees or below with wind chill. During the day, the shelter provides meals, food, showers and resources throughout the year…
