GEAUGA COUNTY, Ohio — A Geauga County, Ohio, grand jury indicted four men accused of an October 9 home invasion and attempted kidnapping at an Amish family’s home and cabinet business in Middlefield Township, Ohio.
The men arrested and indicted for alledgedly commiting the attack include:
- Ricky Lee Martin, 43, of Canton, Ohio, was indicted on one count each of complicity to commit aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery, three counts of complicity to commit kidnapping and one count of having weapons while under disability.
- William Hatfield, 44, Randall Crome, 36, and Bradford James Hosler, 33, all of Canton — were each indicted on one count of aggravated burglary, one count of aggravated robbery, three counts of kidnapping, one count of theft and two counts of assault.
The Geauga County Sheriff’s Office is urging any victim of a theft or burglary who previously used Martin as a driver to call 440-286-1234 and report the incident.
Lieutenant Jim Jonovich of the Geauga Sheriff’s Office said that the three suspects first arrived at the residence and used a ruse to gain access to the victim’s property. “The suspects posed falsely as potential customers of the business and tried to gain the victim’s trust,” he said. “The suspects ultimately used physical force by placing the juvenile victim, an eight-year-old, into a chokehold-type restraint, to force the adult victim and his son into the house. The adult victim stated that he was placed under watch by one of the three men while his house was ransacked by the other two suspects. He reported that they separated him from his son, and they held his son hostage as they moved through the house searching for money.”…
