First Alert Forecast l Elevated fire risk and much colder next few days

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – An arctic cold front will push through tonight and bring much colder air to the region through the middle of the week. There is an elevated fire risk the next few days, so use extra caution with fireworks! We should stay dry through Friday morning, but rain looks likely Friday night into Saturday.

A Lake Wind Advisory is in effect to 7PM tonight for winds that could gusts over 40 mph on Lake Thurmond. It will start feeling much colder tonight with wind chills feeling below freezing by 8-9 pm this evening.

Sub-freezing temperatures return by Tuesday morning with wake up temperatures in the upper 20s and feels like temperatures in the lower 20s. Highs will also be well below average in the upper 40s to lower 50s…
