Lowcountry Action Committee demands transparency regarding inmate deaths

CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is making policy changes to the way it releases information regarding certain prison inmate deaths, saying they are no longer publicly releasing information about inmates who die of natural causes.

They say the decision was made previously, and not as a result of a community vigil and call to action on Monday.
