(WACH) — South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson supports a federal plan allowing prisons to use jamming technology to block contraband cell phones.
Wilson is supporting a proposal from the Federal Communications Commission, saying jamming technology is essential to address safety concerns in facilities. Wilson said that blocking inmates’ access to cell phones is necessary to prevent ongoing criminal activities from within prison walls.
