Second application window for Fort Wayne opioid settlement funds to open soon

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – The second window to apply for funds meant to help individuals and families with overcoming opioid and substance addiction will open soon.

Beginning Friday, those hoping to receive some of the funds will be able to apply. The window will close on Jan. 30.

Fort Wayne Mayor Sharon Tucker and the Fort Wayne City Council partnered earlier this year to create the National Opioid Settlement Committee, which includes:

  • Ewelina Connolly (council appointee);
  • Theresa Juillerat (mayoral appointment)
  • Rebecca Karcher (mayoral appointment)
  • Michelle Rowland (mayoral appointment)
  • Andrew Teel (mayoral appointment)
  • Pat Turner (council appointee)
  • Jayme Yates (council appointee)

Members are tasked with making recommendations on how to use the funds, as well as exploring causes for, responses to and education on opioid and substance abuse…
