Piedmont Land Conservancy’s Expansive Conservation Efforts in 2025
In an impressive stride towards environmental preservation, the Piedmont Land Conservancy (PLC) has marked 2025 with notable achievements across nine counties. With a mission to safeguard natural landscapes, water sources, and agricultural lands, the organization has successfully protected four family farms from development, encompassing a total of 600 acres.
Among PLC’s standout projects is a distinctive preservation endeavor praised by Executive Director Kevin Redding for its ecological and geological significance. “We bought 75 acres in Randolph County, next to several 100 acres owned by the North Carolina Zoo, and it’s called Ridges Mountain,” Redding remarked. “It is open to the public. You can go there and hike, and it has some of the most incredible boulders you’ll ever see in this part of the country.”…
