Allman’s BBQ in Chester eliminated one goal and accomplished another.
In early November 2024, Blake King Jr., a fourth generation restaurateur, opened his restaurant in Chester Square Shopping Center. In the back left-hand corner, the pitmaster offered takeout. In the remaining space, he operated BSK Sports & Outdoors.
One month after Allman’s BBQ opened, King Jr., in an interview with The Progress-Index, shared that he would add seating in 2026, and the retail side would remain open. He completed his renovation goal early, but to solely focus on the restaurant he decided to close BSK Sports & Outdoors…
