Wapello County Deputies Arrest Man for Registry Noncompliance

A Wapello County man is facing additional charges after authorities say he failed to comply with Iowa’s sex offender registry requirements during a traffic stop earlier this year.

On August 2 at approximately 9:25 p.m., the Wapello County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop involving Jacob Dieters, 20, of Blacksburg. During the stop, deputies reviewed Dieters’ sex offender registry file and discovered he was not in compliance with required reporting provisions.

Court documents state Dieters was previously convicted of Telephone Dissemination of Obscene Material and, as a result of that conviction, was ordered to comply with the Iowa State Sex Offender Registry.
