Six years later, WDSU Carley McCord’s mom shares grief journey

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Sunday marked six years since a plane crashed after leaving the Lafayette Airport in Louisiana, killing five people, including WDSU sports reporter Carley McCord.

The plane crash claimed the lives of Carley, Robert Vaughn Crisp II, Gretchen Vincent, her 15-year-old son Michael and pilot Ian Biggs. Despite the tragedy, Carley’s mother, Karen McCord, continues to navigate her grief while working on a book to help others dealing with loss.
