CSRA (WJBF) – An elevated fire risk has emerged across the CSRA amid strong wind gusts and dry conditions, creating potential dangers as many people prepare to set off fireworks for the New Year.
On Tuesday, high winds and dry soil caused a brush fire to spread quickly across North Augusta. Firefighters say it took place on Gustav Court when a firework ignited dry vegetation. The fire damaged a fence and threated nearby homes.
Officials are warning people to use extreme caution, or even avoid fireworks altogether…
