One year after a rented truck plowed through New Year’s Eve crowds on Bourbon Street, attorneys representing victims, including two young women from Fort Myers, say the civil case seeking accountability is now moving forward in court.
Law firms Romanucci & Blandin and Maples & Connick announced Monday, Dec. 29 that their consolidated lawsuit has survived several motions to dismiss and is entering the discovery phase, when both sides exchange evidence and take sworn testimony. The firms represent 35 survivors and family members of those who were killed in the early hours of Jan. 1.
Among the plaintiffs are Fort Myers residents Elle Eisele and Steele Idelson, both 2023 graduates of Canterbury School, who were seriously injured during the attack while visiting New Orleans for New Year’s Eve celebrations ahead of the Sugar Bowl…
