Ohio cell phone ban in schools begins January 1

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Ohio’s ban on cell phones in school takes effect on Jan. 1. FOX19 NOW spoke with the founder of the Cincinnati Parent Empowerment Network about the change.

Christian Davis said many of the parents she’s heard from overwhelmingly support the change. She said they support the idea of eliminating distractions from the classroom.

“Students deserve to have the least distracting learning environment,” Davis said. “I really want our children to be in an environment where they can focus, and they can be the best that they can be. They can have less distractions and just be fully present, mind, body and spirit.”…
